The Five Circles Of Involvement

At FBC, we are attempting to recapture the biblical approach to living the Christian life, which involves fulfilling God’s purpose for individuals through their  involvement in a purpose-driven fellowship of faith.

THE CELEBRATION CIRCLE: Through seed sowing, cultivation, and harvest initiatives, we constantly invite folks in our city to join us on Sunday mornings to consider the claims of Christ. Since the primary purpose of our Sunday morning Celebration Services is for us to seek God’s face together, what better opportunity for an unbeliever to consider the Christian faith? In our outreach to our city, we seek to combine the ideas of “go & tell” with “come & see.” Our worship celebrations are like the foyer in your home - it's a place where folks can make acquaintences.

THE COMMUNITY CIRCLE: We want to involve people in the community circle through involvement in a Sunday morning Bible Fellowship. In our Bible Fellowships our primary focus is on studying God’s Word together. This level of involvement moves them from the “foyer,” to the “living room” of our church family, where they can develop friendships. This is important, because we believe the church is not an organization to “join” but a family to be part of.This circle of involvement corresponds to the purpose of fellowship because when one gets involved in a Bible Fellowship, they begin to go deeper in their connection with fellow believers at FBC; and because biblical fellowship is always centered around God’s truth (Acts 2:42; 1 John 1:3; 7).

THE COMMITMENT CIRCLE: We involve people in a  higher level of commitment to Christ through involvement in a Growth Group. While a person can make acquaintances through worship, and develop friendships through being part of a Bible Fellowship; when they participate as part of a Growth Group, they can experience the church as “family.” Growth Groups are designed to be like the “kitchen” of your home – a place where family gathers to discuss their day, to help each other figure out how to deal with life’s problems, and to share experiences. The primary purpose of our Growth Groups is to share God’s life together.

THE COMMUNION CIRCLE: A believer who, through involvement in a weekly Worship Celebration, a weekly Bible Fellowship and a weekly Growth Group, will be helped to enter into the Communion Circle, learning along with others how to love God supremely and love other selflessly through obeying the Great Commandment (Matthew 22:37-40). One has entered into the Communion Circle when they join with other believers to serve God's people together.

THE COMMISSION CIRCLE: Through involvement in a weekly Worship Celebration, a weekly Bible Fellowship and a weekly Growth Group, a believer will also be helped to enter into the Commission Circle, working along with others in obeying the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20) as they share God's love together. Our church offers opportunities for our members to reach out to our city and the world through special outreach events, servant evangelism, & mission projects.
