• Dave McFadden - Lead Pastor

    Dave has been the lead pastor at FBC for five years. He and his wife, Donna, have three grown children, each of whom is married. Their oldest son, Josh, and his wife, Tiffany, live in Abilene, Texas. The next oldest, Jeff, and his wife, Laura, live in New Braunfels, Texas. They have two daughters, Esmee and Emma. Their youngest, Jill, and her husband, Aaron, live in Abilene, Texas, and have three sons, Max, Beaux, and Jaxon.

    Donna teaches school in Muleshoe at DeShazo Elementary, where she teaches 4th grade English Language Arts. Donna is an excellent Bible teacher and leads a Bible Fellowship at 10:00 a.m.

    Dave has been pastoring local churches for 35 years. He holds both a master's and doctorate degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is an online professor for Rockbridge Seminary.

    Dave and Donna enjoy spending time with each other, their kids, and grandkids, doing yardwork, going to movies, and eating out - especially at Juanito's in Portales every Thursday night.

  • Chris Horton - Youth & Education Pastor

    Chris  joined the staff of FBC in July of 2009. He is a graduate of Eastern New Mexico University with a degree in History.   He is excited to be serving in his hometown of Portales. His philosophy of ministry is to connect teens with Jesus and send them out into the world as ministers and missionaries to reach their peers.
     
    Chris loves to read a good book, watch his favorite movies, and is a huge sports fan. He is fond of coffee, his family, and hanging out with teens, not in that order!
     
    He has been married to his college sweetheart, Amy, for 11 years and looks forward to the day he can celebrate his 60th wedding anniversary with her. They are blessed with two sons, Brett and Dylan, and one daughter, Ainsley. His goal in life is to spoil them rotten with love and attention.

  • Brian Strain - Pastor to Military Families

    Brian and his wife, nadine, have two boys, Brenden and Timothy. Brian is from Philadelphia andNadine is from Berlin, Germany. Brian has been in the Air Force 8 years.Since getting involved at FBC, Brian has let it made known that he feels God has called him to ministry. He is looking at the possibility in the future of entering the chaplaincy or some other ministry. To affirm his call and assist him in his pursuit of it, our church has recognized Brian as a volunteer Pastor of Military Ministry.

  • Valerie O'Neal - Children's Director

    Valerie and her husband, Jed, grew up in Portales. They have three children, Kaylee, age 14, Kelby, age 10, and Kallen, age 4.

  • Wayne Anderson - Worship and Choral Director

    Wayne and his wife, Becky (who plays the piano for the 9:00 a.m. service) live in Clovis. Becky works for the school district there, and Wayne retired from Clovis ISD after several years as the administrator of the music program.Wayne leads worship during the 9:00 a.m. service and directs our Worship Choir, which assists in the 9:00 a.m. service. He also leads our annual Christmas and Easter programs, which are among the best attended services we have at FBC each year.

    Susan and her husband, Lonnie, are life-long residents of Portales. She has been with FBC for ten years.

  • Robin Griffith - Church Custodian

    Robin is married to David, and has three children, Sarah, Nathaniel, and Emily. Robin has been with FBC for eleven years.

  • Ronnie Johns - Assistant Custodian

    Ronnie is married to Linda. They have two daughters, Kaleigh and Kelsey.
